
Gases that are part of the atmosphere, of natural and anthropogenic origin (produced by human activities), which absorb and emit radiation at certain wavelengths of the infrared radiation spectrum emitted by the surface of the Earth, the atmosphere, and clouds. This property causes the greenhouse effect.
